With an unmovable end date due to arriving equipment and an inspection by international auditors, the construction of a new lab space for a client needed to begin immediately. However, the timing of preconstruction activities continued to move back the start date. The delayed start meant working long days and extra weekends in order to complete the lab on time. Six to eight weeks of work was pushed into four to five weeks. With the project schedule running over 3 major holidays – thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's – scheduling material delivery, subcontractors and inspections was quite the orchestration.
