Air Handling Project

Kirby and its team were brought on board to upgrade the building cooling system for one of its clients; a client with a vision of green building and energy efficiency. This project replaced one large cooling tower with several smaller air handling units. The following statistics were reported:

  • Projected savings of 515,389 kWh per year
  • Saved 300,000 gallons of domestic water per year
  • Reduced CO2 emissions by 135 tons per year
  • Removed 200 pounds of CFC R-22 from use
  • Recycled 19,200 pounds of construction debris and equipment
  • Eliminated the need for 500 gallons of chlorine per year for cooling tower chemical treatment
  • Project ended with a $87,786 rebate check from QuEST
