Printing Press Installation
The Press Democrat contracted Kirby to install their new 4-ton press. Kirby was tasked with lying out and securing the press so it would be perfectly aligned and level. The holes cored in the concrete for the bolts that secure the legs of the machine had to be perfectly vertical. Layout of these multiple core holes was critical to the end result of the project, any variance would increase the risk of a misaligned machine and result in poor quality printing.
